STEAM

Build a 3D Printed Guitar in Your Classroom!

A 3D-printed guitar brings STEAM to life, blending creativity and technical skills as students turn a digital model into a real, playable instrument.

A fantastic bridge between STEM and the Arts

Technically minded students are inspired by the engineering challenge and artistically inclined students are drawn in by the opportunity to design something beautiful and musical.

The result? Cross-disciplinary collaboration, hands-on problem solving, and a sense of shared accomplishment. Watching students hear their guitars for the first time—eyes wide, saying “That is SO cool!”—is pure magic.

What Students Learn

3D Printing

Connects students with the power of 3D printing and its real-world applications

Assembly

The build process reinforces step-by-step direction-following and sharpens practical, hands-on problem-solving. Students can express their individuality through personalized touches—choosing patterns, colors, and adding optional decorative finishes like epoxy, rhinestones, paint, or stickers.

Electronics

The electronics module and pickups (pre-soldered) introduce basic electrical principles.

Music

Students gain hands-on familiarity with key musical components including the guitar neck, pickups, strings, and controls. They discover how science and art combine to create a fully playable electric guitar.
